ChatGPT predicts Patriots' 2025 season results and key player stats – Patriots Wire
As the New England Patriots head into the 2025 NFL season with renewed optimism and a retooled roster under coach Mike Vrabel and lead personnel executive Eliot Wolf, we decided to run a full simulation of the season using ChatGPT, an AI simulator, to see just how competitive the team might be.
Expectations are rising in Foxborough with a returning Josh McDaniels and a new offensive identity being built around second-year quarterback Drake Maye. The team finally drafted a franchise left tackle, upgraded at right tackle and improved the interior positions along the offensive line.
They’ve also added multiple receiving weapons and made significant improvements defensively.
It isn’t unrealistic to think the Patriots could go from a 4-13 finish last season to playoff contention in 2025. Here’s what the ChatGPT simulation predicted for the team in the first year under Vrabel:
ChatGPT had the Patriots finishing the season with a 10-7 record and making a Wild Card playoff appearance. They ultimately fell in the playoffs to the Baltimore Ravens, but not before showing major signs of growth and development across the roster.
Going from one of the league’s worst teams to a playoff contender in only one season would be a dramatic turnaround for the Patriots. It would signal a team being on the right track to one day getting back to being a perennial Super Bowl contender.
This simulated season shows a massive step forward for the Patriots.
Drake Maye not only holds his own but thrives, finishing with over 4,300 yards and 36 touchdowns. Running back TreVeyon Henderson bursts onto the scene with over 1,100 rushing yards and proves to be a dangerous weapon in both the run and pass game.
Kyle Williams and Ja’Lynn Polk provide a youthful infusion of talent at wide receiver, while Stefon Diggs adds veteran savvy despite missing time early.
Defensively, the team may not have a superstar pass rusher just yet, but Harold Landry anchors a solid unit that features rotational depth and some emerging contributors, like Keion White and Christian Barmore. Overall, this is a group that is much improved from 2024 and finally has the depth to compete consistently.
