OpenAI Launches ChatGPT Atlas, an AI Browser Designed to Redefine Search and Internet Navigation – AI Insider

OpenAI has unveiled ChatGPT Atlas, a new AI-powered web browser built to make ChatGPT the starting point for search and discovery across the web. Introduced during a livestream, Atlas represents the company’s latest effort to integrate its conversational AI deeply into everyday browsing.
Unlike traditional browsers that rely on search engines and links, Atlas allows users to type natural-language queries directly into the address bar and receive contextual, conversational answers from ChatGPT. The browser also integrates memory and app connectivity, enabling it to reference prior chats, browsing history, and connected tools for more personalized responses.
Currently available on Mac, with Windows, iOS, and Android versions in development, Atlas will roll out globally to all ChatGPT users. With 800 million weekly active users, OpenAI’s entry into the browser market positions it as a direct challenger to Google, Apple, and Microsoft, aiming to make AI — not search — the default interface for the modern internet.
