OpenAI has introduced Your Year with ChatGPT, a personalised year-in-review feature that reflects how users interacted with the AI chatbot over the past year. Inspired by Spotify Wrapped, the experience highlights recurring themes, interests, and usage patterns from conversations in a visually engaging, story-style format. While currently limited to select markets and available only in English, the feature is accessible to all ChatGPT users regardless of their subscription tier. It is is available in India for Go, Plus and Pro users.

OpenAI says Your Year With ChatGPT is an optional feature that reflects how users interacted with the AI chatbot throughout 2025. The recap presents summary statistics, highlights high-level conversation themes, and shows the topics and types of queries users engaged with most over the year.
The feature also adds a playful touch by assigning quirky awards based on usage patterns, such as recognising users who frequently used ChatGPT for brainstorming or problem-solving. Alongside usage insights, it can generate a short poem and an AI-created image inspired by a user’s most common conversation themes.

To access the recap, users must have chat history and saved memory features enabled, meet a minimum activity threshold, and be running the latest version of the ChatGPT app on Android or iOS. If usage is limited, the feature will only show basic statistics. It appears automatically as a banner on the app’s home screen or can be accessed via the + menu.

According to OpenAI, “If you meet eligibility requirements, Your Year with ChatGPT will show up as an entry point on your home screen on iOS, Android, and web. You can also ask ChatGPT directly for Your Year with ChatGPT to trigger the experience. This experience is designed to be lightweight, privacy-forward, and user-controlled. Note this is not available for Team, Enterprise, or Education accounts.”
The rollout is currently limited to users in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, and is not available for Education, Enterprise, or Team accounts. Presented in a Stories-like, shareable card format, the feature aligns with OpenAI’s broader push to make ChatGPT more personal while tapping into the popularity of year-end digital recaps.
