In fact, I asked the AI chatbot to tell me the best cities to retire on this strict budget, and it gave me a diverse selection of places, each with its own unique vibe and characteristics. Here were its recommendations.

Speaking of cost of living, it's 12% below the national average in Erie, which is great for retirees living on $2,000 per month. "The city offers community senior programs, straightforward health care access, and quiet neighborhoods," said ChatGPT.
Erie is a Gateway to all that the Great Lakes have to offer, thanks to its location on South Lake Erie.

Asheville draws retirees with its laid-back culture and mountain lifestyle, according to ChatGPT. "The Blue Ridge foothills mean easy hiking, arts scenes, and farm-to-table food without needing big city budgets," it said.
Asheville's cost of living is 5% above the national average, making living on $2,000 tight but doable, according to the robot.
