Alexa users can now chat with DEAD famous figures as Amazon adds bizarre free AI upgrade to gadgets… – The Sun
AMAZON has given Alexa users the ability to speak with the dead.
A new skill, called Character.AI., lets users chat with a range of different bots impersonating dead and alive celebrities and historical figures, such as Elon Musk, Albert Einstein or Socrates.
Users can use Character.AI. to chat with trip planners, as well as dating and fitness coaches.
Or they can play roleplay adventure games, like helping Nintendo's Mario find Princess Peach.
The latest addition to the Amazon Alexa Skill Store, unveiled at CES 2024, is now accessible to all Echo and Alexa users.
To use the skill, just say: "Alexa, open Character.AI."
Alexa will then ask whether users would like to speak with assistants, famous people or play games.
Character.AI isn't the only new skill Amazon has unveiled at CES 2024 – which is considered the consumer tech event of the year.
A free new skill that has also landed in the Amazon Alexa Skill Store is Splash.
Splash uses artificial intelligence (AI) to let users create songs using their voice.
To start, users must say, “Alexa, open Splash" or "Alexa, create a song with Splash Music."
Then they pick a musical genre, add lyrics and either rap or sing along.
Users can then download their custom songs by asking Alexa to send a link to their mobile phones.
Finally, there's Volley – an AI-powered "20 questions game".
Volley uses generative AI to offer players questions and even provides hints and explanations to questions when users get stuck.
To try this one, simply say: "Alexa, open Volley Games."
