You may have heard about ChatGPT and artificial intelligence.
But how it works, or how you can use it, is still widely unknown.
‘Do Space’ in Omaha offers a class to learn about it.
“This workshop was designed as a hands-on approach in order to give people practice with AI technology,” Amou Majok said.
Majok teaches a beginner’s guide to ChatGPT and artificial intelligence.
“I wanted to see what all the buzz was about,” Kris Mayberry, a student in class, said.
She and others were interested in learning how to ask for help with ChatGPT.
“It will summarize huge chunks of information instantly. It is incredibly easy to use,” Nan Sibbernson said.
Some have reservations about the ethical and moral concerns regarding artificial intelligence.
“I think that technology can be used for good and bad, and it’s up to us as good citizens to understand those issues and act on them,” student Linda Parker said.
This free class at Do Space teaches students to use ChatGPT to summarize big topics and debates and even learn how to craft an email.
“There are a lot of misconceptions with artificial intelligence. I think a lot of people are intimidated, and they might not understand how it can benefit them and may not understand the limits are as well,” Majok said.

Do Space offers all kinds of classes in digital technology.
Right now, Do Space is housed inside Abrahams Library near 90th and Fort streets.
The new location is still under construction.
