Genius AI chatbot handled nearly 5,000 automated pet health consultations in first year of operation.
Farmina Pet Foods has received the Pet Care Innovation of the Year Award for its Genius AI platform, a chatbot that provides pet health and nutrition guidance through artificial intelligence combined with veterinary expertise.
The platform, launched in fall 2024, operates as a 24/7 online consultation service for pet owners seeking advice on dog and cat health, nutrition and care issues. The system was developed using knowledge from veterinarians, pet health coaches and breeders to respond to pet-related questions.
According to company data, the Genius AI chatbot resolved 4,826 conversations in 2024 without requiring human intervention. The platform also connects users with Farmina’s Pet Health Coaches for more complex consultations when automated responses are insufficient.

The Genius AI platform operates in English, Spanish, French and Italian languages. Pet owners can access the service online or through the app at no cost and schedule individual appointments for detailed consultations.
