Conversational AI chatbot Google Bard will now show real-time responses, creating a faster real time reciprocation, a functionality that its competitor ChatGPT already offers.
It is commonly found that large language models (LLMs) do not provide responses instantaneously because of background processes, hence, a delay is always experienced between prompt and answer. However, Google’s new offering will initiate two ways answers from Bard.
Users can now access ‘response delay’ setting under the ‘settings’ menu in Bard which is located at the top right corner of the chatbot. Clicking on the ‘settings’ menu, users can pick one of the options from “Respond once complete” and “Respond in real time.”
When a user selects “Respond in real time”, Bard writes response query line-by-line. The delay will be only of fraction time but once Bard starts writing, users can read the answer when and as written in the answer box.
Users will also be availed with a ‘skip response’ option if they feel unsatisfied with the generated response and can further finetune the query for the desired result.
Last week, Bard also got a new feature to summarise more emails at one go. The update that helps in providing better understanding of recent emails. Additionally, the chatbot will support uploaded images in shared conversations. Google Bard will also enhance visual results by displaying photos. When a conversation includes an image in the prompt, that image will be visible when shared.
