Google Wants to Know: What Should Its AI Do? – The Messenger
Google Bard product managers are taking to social media to ask how the experimental AI chatbot can improve in the new year. Some top answers from users, such as integration into Google Assistant, appear to be in the works.
Chris Gorgolewski, a PM on the Bard team, asked Reddit users on Monday to talk about changes and new features that they wanted to see in the product in 2024. Among other asks, users wanted more integration with Google services including Calendar, Tasks and News.
Jack Krawczyk, senior director of product at Google, similarly posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday asking for Bard user input. Krawczyk pointed out that the top four requests for Bard so far were more control over hallucination (when AI accidentally presents false information as fact), multimodality (increased use cases for Bard across video, audio and other mediums), app access and new experimental features.
X users said that they wanted Bard to have better memory, so it doesn’t lose context more quickly than other chatbots. They also asked for a longer context window, a code interpreter, and more.
Google debuted the strongest version of Bard yet in December with the launch of Gemini, Google’s “most capable and general model yet.”
