According to an X (formerly known as Twitter) post, the tool can generate genuine-looking emails and websites, which can trick people into giving away personal details, account credentials, and financial data. Further, FraudGPT can also lure users into clicking malicious links that may infect a gadget with malware. Beyond this, the tool can “imitate human conversation” to churn out data and help in a scammer’s fraudulent endeavours. Plus, it can make fake bills, documents and more to dupe victims.
To stay safe, users must not click on links or open attachments from unverified sources. Plus, thoroughly check the authenticity of messages demanding sensitive information. Users can contact the organisation via official sources and cross-check the request. Beyond these, a user must update their system and install an antivirus program.

In this scam, a fraudster shares an email or a message with the victim, asking them to download an attachment to track the progress of their parcel. This link or attachment is malicious in most cases which can steal information from a user’s device. The fraudster claims that the customer’s package had drugs (or weapons) and asks for a monetary sum to release the parcel and avoid punishment. In some cases, they might also demand bank details.
To stay safe from these frauds, a user must verify the email address of the source and cross-check the detail via the company’s official channels. Courier companies do not ask for additional monetary sums or personal bank details. Make sure not to click on links shared in the email or attachment. Lastly, only dial helpline numbers stated on the official website of the companies and do not rely on numbers in internal searches.
