Nowadays, people are easily accessible to the internet,so when they have any query regarding anything, they directly rush towards Google, most of the time, toAI tools like ChatGPT for the answers. People find these tools easy and quick to use, but they do not always show the right answer. A shocking and heartbreaking story from Ireland proves this. Warren Tierney, a 37-year-old man, trusted ChatGPT when he was not feeling well. A few months later, he got diagnosed with stage four throat cancer. This incident went viral and raised concerns among people about using AI for health.
Warren was facing pain in his throat and difficulty swallowing anything for a few months. So instead of visiting the doctor, he took help from ChatGPT, asking about the symptoms. And ChatGPT assured him that it was not cancer and asked him to calm down. He trusted ChatGPT and did not seek any medical help from a doctor.
By the time Warren visited the hospital. His condition got worse. The doctor told him that he was suffering from stage 4 oesophageal cancer. It’s a rare form of throat cancer. And on stage four, it’s hard to treat cancer. Also, the survival rate gets limited;if he had detected it early, then he would have had more chances to recover properly.

Although not everybody’sstory presented on AI is negative. There was a case in Northern Ireland where the doctor missed thyroid cancer, but ChatGPT helped to detect that.
