Meet Airis: A ChatGPT like AI chatbot that can understand context and handle multiple queries – The Indian Express
Ever since OpenAI introduced ChatGPT, the race for AI has geared up quite significantly, with big tech companies like Google and Microsoft all launching their own chatbots. A few days ago, Opera also unveiled its ChatGPT-like chatbot called Aria which sits in the browser’s sidebar.
Recently, macOS exclusive web browser SigmaOS launched its own AI assistant named ‘Airis’. For the uninitiated, SigmaOS is a free-to-use web browser based on the Webkit engine. The company claims the browser is designed to enhance productivity with features like the ability to organise tabs in different lists, mark them and even install extensions from the Google Chrome Web store.
SigmaOS developers say their AI chatbot Airis can answer your queries by understanding the context of a page. For example, if you ask Airis questions or explain what ‘Titans’ mean when reading an article on the IPL team Gujarat Titans, the chatbot will understand that you are asking about the team and not the word itself.

Unlike Bing Chat, users can ask Airis questions about anything by simply selecting text and right-clicking on it. Moreover, like ChatGPT and Bard, it can also rewrite text, sentences or paragraphs and supports prompts like ‘Make it simple’, ‘Make it look like it’s written by a child’ or ‘Write this in 200 words’. Based on GPT-4, it can also translate articles and webpages in real-time in various languages and supports continued conversations like Bard, ChatGPT and Bing.
According to a report by The Verge, the chatbot will soon be able to answer any questions about the browser, understand whole websites and even create workspaces in the SigmaOS web browser. Another advantage Airis has over ChatGPT is that users don’t have to wait for a task to finish. The chatbot can handle multiple rewriting or other tasks on different pages at the same time. Currently, Airis can be accessed by signing up for the waitlist from the SigmaOS website.
