Microsoft's Copilot is now available on Android as a standalone AI Chatbot App – Innovation Village

Microsoft discreetly launched a dedicated Android app for Copilot, now available on Google Play Store. This new application allows users to access Microsoft’s AI-driven Copilot sans the Bing mobile app. As reported by Neowin, Copilot for Android has been accessible for almost a week, but its iOS variant has not been released yet.
Microsoft’s Copilot app for Android closely mirrors ChatGPT, offering chatbot functions, DALL-E 3-powered image generation, and the ability to compose text for emails and documents. Interestingly, it provides free access to OpenAI’s advanced GPT-4 model, a feature available in ChatGPT only through paid usage.
The release of the Copilot app for Android comes just over a month after Microsoft renamed Bing Chat to Copilot. Microsoft initially incorporated its AI efforts within the Bing search engine, adding a ChatGPT-like interface to search results. Though this is still functional, Microsoft dropped the Bing Chat name, allowing Copilot to have a more standalone presence, including a dedicated site at copilot.microsoft.com, similar to ChatGPT.
The logical step forward seems to be the launch of mobile apps for Copilot to further broaden this standalone Copilot experience, especially after Bing Chat Enterprise was also rebranded to Copilot. Currently, there’s no sign of an iOS version of Copilot, but it’s likely to be in the pipeline. In the meantime, users can use the Bing app on an iPhone or iPad to access existing Copilot features.
