New AI chatbot talks with users as Jesus and Satan, gives them pompous answers – India Today

The emergence of artificial intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing everyone’s lives. Not just in the tech industry, but AI is literally becoming part of people’s lives by taking on the roles of teacher, partner, and even astrologer. And while we are still exploring all that AI is capable of, a new development has made it possible for AI to connect people to the divine world.
A new app called “Text With Jesus” allows users to chat with Jesus and other biblical figures. Created while keeping in mind the devoted Christians, the generative AI app will provide users with answers based on how the divine characters would have responded. This includes Jesus, Mary, Joseph, Peter, and Matthew.
However, not everything in this realm is holy and divine. This is where the controversial features come into play. The app also enables users to engage in conversations with the devil himself, Satan. While interactions with angelic and holy characters can be spiritually uplifting, dialogues with malevolent figures can be misleading. Given that AI is already under debate for engaging in contentious conversations with unrestricted content, the inclusion of a conversation feature with Satan has further ignited controversy. This has raised concerns about the extent to which it could potentially deceive individuals.
However, the developers have further added a modern twist to the conversation. Each interaction with the devil concludes with a “smiling face with horns” emoji. It is important to note that the option to interact with Satan is disabled by default. Users must manually enable this interaction if they choose to engage with this particular figure.
Notably, the app is developed using the propositions and rich text of the Bible. Therefore, the chatbot query will allow users to get answers based on the holy book. The app emphasizes that “the portrayal is based on Christian teachings, and users retain complete control over their engagement with all characters featured within the app.”
The app is free to download from the App Store, and there is an option for a premium subscription that unlocks the full range of figures and unlimited messaging.
The premium version of the app is available for only $2.99 per month. It offers features such as engaging dialogues with narratives like Adam and Eve’s story or the beginning of humanity.
The app is currently compatible with iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices. To use it, your device must run on iOS or iPadOS 16 or a later version, or macOS 13 (Ventura) or a later version. The team behind the app is also working on expanding its availability to Android devices and the web in the coming times.
