Samsung Could Unveil Its On AI-Chatbot Similar to ChatGPT Called SimplyChat Later This Year – Wccftech

The race for generative AI has become a lot more competitive, with more and more companies working on bringing their own version of generative AI to mobile devices and other platforms. Recently, we reported that Samsung could be working on a new AI-powered app that will be able to generate videos using on-device AI, and now a new report has shown up that the South Korean tech firm could unveil its own chatbot called SimplyChat at the Real Summit 2023.
The Real Summit 2023 is going to take place on 12th September, later this year, and based on the report, Samsung is expected to reveal SimplyChat, its version of the AI chatbot that will work similarly to ChatGPT.
The report also suggests that the global launch is not happening at this moment as Samsung will test SimplyChat first within the company and then will release a version for the public. This is likely to ensure that there are no issues coming in the way, considering how the report has mentioned that this technology is developed in-house.
SimplyChat, which is made by Samsung, will launch with the basic functionality of an AI chatbot. However, Samsung is planning on building it further into a proper hardware configuration. Once the company releases it for the public, it will also start ordering AI servers, with Quanta and Wistron receiving the biggest orders from the South Korean tech giant.
At the moment, we cannot confirm what will become of SimplyChat, but it is safe to say that Samsung is invested in generative AI. This does make sense because starting later this year, we will start seeing flagship SoCs with on-board AI capabilities, and the big names in the market want to make sure that they have something that is ready for the prime time and developing generative AI-based apps and services is a good way to get started.
AI is undoubtedly taking over the smartphone industry much faster than some of us had anticipated, but it probably is for good. It is still a relatively new technology compared to what we are used to, so we have a lot to look forward to, and whenever Samsung unveils SimplyChat, we will keep you posted.
