Currently there are multiple AI’s applications being developed in the world. Couple of them that are the most used are ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot and Perplexity. We will dive into the key differences and similarities between them both from the user point of view, as well as the software guy point of view.
Developed by OpenAI, is an AI language model designed to understand and generate human-like text based on the prompts it receives. It’s part of the GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) series, known for its deep learning algorithms that enable it to provide responses across a wide array of topics and tasks. From writing essays, coding, to casual conversation, ChatGPT is versatile, making it an invaluable tool for users seeking information, creativity, or even entertainment. Its ability to learn from a vast dataset allows it to mimic human-like interactions, and the ChatGPT Store that allows for sharing preconfigured models and interaction with other websites via API’s help a lot with the configuration.
Positions itself as an AI-powered search assistant, striving to make information discovery more intuitive and accurate. Unlike traditional search engines that return a list of web pages, Perplexity AI aims to provide direct answers to questions, making it easier for users to find the information they need. Apart from searching the web, it also generates the content based on the provided sources from the internet, which then are available to also verify within the request.
AI tool mostly integrated within Microsoft 365 which enhances productivity in office tasks. It uses AI to help users with email composition in Outlook, data analysis in Excel, and content creation in PowerPoint, among other features, through a blend of natural language processing and machine learning.
