Vida rolls out AI chatbot to support mortgage brokers – MPA Mag
New tool addresses how brokers source lending information
Specialist lender Vida has launched Mobi, an artificial intelligence-powered chatbot designed to assist mortgage brokers with instant access to lending criteria and product details at any time.
Mobi, available 24/7, is trained on Vida’s full range of lending criteria. The tool is intended to provide brokers with immediate responses to frequently asked questions, aiming to reduce delays in broker workflows.
“In a fast-paced market, time is everything,” said Tommy Wight, chief operating officer at Vida Homeloans. “Mobi is here to give brokers the clarity they need, exactly when they need it. It’s a major step forward in our commitment to delivering a seamless, tech-enabled experience for our intermediary partners.
“We’ve designed Mobi to be the first port of call for brokers, handling everyday queries so that calls and emails can be reserved for more complex cases that require a human touch.”
The launch forms part of Vida’s wider digital transformation efforts, which focus on integrating technology with human expertise to strengthen its position in the specialist mortgage market.
The move highlights a broader trend among lenders towards adopting artificial intelligence and digital solutions. Nearly three years ago, Bath Building Society launched a similar tool – a conversational AI chatbot for intermediaries. A year later, MPowered Mortgages, a fintech mortgage lender, announced the rollout of its ChatGPT-based chatbot, which enabled a third of broker queries to be resolved without human involvement.
