iPhone 17 Air: Internet Suggests Replacing Siri With ChatGPT Voice; OpenAI’s Sam Altman Says ‘Great Idea’ – Mashable India
Apple’s latest launch, the iPhone 17 Air with all of its computation parts clustered on the camera bump, is earning both criticism and compliments. Launched alongside its iPhone 17 series siblings, namely, the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max and the standard iPhone, the ultra-thin Air model stole the limelight. The company hailed it as the “thinnest iPhone ever with Pro-level performance.”
Apple’s first SIM-less smartphone, the iPhone 17 Air, packs in 6-core CPUs powered by the A19 Pro chip that the company claims will deliver MacBook Pro-level GPU performance. The iPhone maker has integrated neural accelerators in each of its GPUs that will be core to executing tasks that heavily rely on AI.
With a titanium frame and ceramic shield, the new iPhone 17 Air’s aesthetics and features are already luring techbros. OpenAI’s co-founder and CEO Sam Altman, in his latest tweet, quipped that the iPhone 17 Air is the “first new iphone upgrade i have really wanted in a while! looks very cool.”
When a user suggested that the smartphone could replace its voice assistant, Siri, with OpenAI’s ChatGPT Voice, here’s what the 40-year-old stated:
“that tbh sounds like a great idea; i am supportive.”
