NVIDIA is the latest tech company capitalizing on the chatbot craze. Following Google, OpenAI, Anthropic and more all launching their own bots, NVIDIA has rolled out a generative AI demo app called Chat With RTX.
The app isn’t a standard chatbot but rather a platform that allows people to customize their own LLM. NVIDIA says that Chat with RTX users “can query a custom chatbot to quickly get contextually relevant answers.”
Best of all, the app runs locally on one’s PC, meaning it’s capable of accessing all of the information on one’s computer. Users can feed the app their files and documents, training the chatbot to spit out relevant information. For instance, if a user were to ask what time a friend’s party was taking place, Chat With RTX can scan their messages and emails to locate the time.
The app requires an operating system of Windows 11 or later to run, as well as at least 16GB of storage. Naturally, those uncomfortable with a chatbot being able to access all of their information, personal and professional, should opt for another bot. For those who need to comb through a large amount of documents at once, however, Chat With RTX could be a game-changer.
