OpenAI brings Bing Search to ChatGPT on iOS: Here’s how to enable it – The Indian Express
OpenAI launched ChatGPT app on iOS and iPadOS last month, bringing the power of generative AI directly to iPhones and iPads. Now, the company has integrated Bing Search with the latest update.
The integration of Bing with ChatGPT on iOS and iPadOS will help users search for the latest information on the internet using the GPT-4 model. Since ChatGPT has been trained on data till September 2021, the integration of Bing Search is a huge boost to its limited dataset.
According to a report by The Verge, the web version of ChatGPT already has Bing integrated but the feature is limited to ChatGPT Plus beta members. The recent move might be a part of Microsoft’s multi-billion dollar investment in OpenAI as the tech giant recently introduced a new widget to its Bing app on iOS which takes users directly to OpenAI’s ChatGPT interface.
If you want to search on ChatGPT using Bing Search, you will need a ChatGPT Plus subscription, which currently costs $20 or approx Rs 1,640.
1. To enable Bing Search, open the app settings and head over to the ‘New Features’ section.
2. Now, enable the ‘Browsing’ option, select GPT-4 and use ‘Browse with Bing’ option from the drop-down menu.
ChatGPT for iOS can be downloaded for free from the App Store in 40-plus regions, but the company is yet to make it available in India. Since its launch in May, the San Francisco-based company has been adding new features such as Siri integration, which lets users access the chatbot using the voice assistant, enhanced screen layout on iPads and improving existing ones like chat history and voice search.
