As you are browsing Medium stories, sometimes you click on a story that you like to read more of, only to get that strange wording feeling that it might have been AI-generated, namely by ChatGPT, Bard, Jasperai, etc.
I work as a project consultant at a firm in Germany, and part of my job is working on a ton of online text and documents. Also, I’ve been writing consistently on Medium since October 2022, when I joined the platform.
Most of us here on Medium are both readers and writers. I love reading as much as I love writing stuff. And getting paid for your stories is precisely what makes this platform the best on the internet.
As any other avid reader on Medium, I spend a lot of time reading stories from all types of Medium writers, including beginners, experienced, FOMs, and anything that falls in between.
This is because I believe that we should not ‘judge a book by its cover’ and should not only read from top writers—everyone should get a bit of our time. With this being said, I spend most of my time reading, taking notes, writing, and editing my work; this close reader-writer interaction I have with Medium stories helps me to sharpen my AI-generated text-detecting skills. Now, I can comfortably read an article and know whether it was AI-generated, purely human, or a mix of the two.
