Hello, fellow readers and writers! Welcome to another article all about AI. ChatGPT Plus offers useful plugins that enhance the AI assistant experience. One of its most useful features was Browse with Bing, which allowed web searching directly within the AI assistant.
Unfortunately, OpenAI disabled this due to issues with paywall bypassing. Until Browse with Bing returns, plugins help reconnect ChatGPT to the internet.

In July 2022, OpenAI introduced Browse with Bing, permitting ChatGPT users to search the web and access online information to improve its responses.
This dramatically expanded ChatGPT’s knowledge. However, some users discovered ways to get around paywalls on sites like NYTimes.com using this feature.
To avoid potential legal trouble or abuse, OpenAI quickly disabled Browse with Bing temporarily. They likely need time to refine the system and implement guardrails to prevent paywall circumvention before reintroducing web browsing.
OpenAI has not provided an exact timeline for when Browse with Bing might be available again.
Fortunately, plugins help fill this gap in the interim period while OpenAI reworks Browse with Bing. Here are some of the most useful ones to help connect to the internet:
– WebChatGPT Browser Extension — This free Chrome extension reenables web searching directly within the ChatGPT site. After installing, log into your OpenAI account and toggle the extension on. No ChatGPT Plus needed.
– KeyMate.AI Search Plugin — For refined search, this Plus plugin uses GPT-4 capabilities. Install through the Plugin Store for $20/month with ChatGPT Plus. The free version has a basic search.
