DCA volleyball standout Bailey Shepard earned the top number of votes to claim the La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries girls athlete of the week for Sept. 11-16.
Shepard finished strong with 1,668 total votes to take home 60.5% of the girls total votes. She beat out Gallatin’s Alley Hibdon (498) and Middle Tennessee Christian’s Anna Clay Shirley (355).
Shepard had 34 kills and 4 blocks in a rallying five-set win over Ezell Harding last Monday. She finished the week strong with 12 kills and 7 digs in a win against MJCA and 18 kills, 3 blocks and 17 digs against Goodpasture.
