Microsoft's Copilot AI chatbot app now available on iOS – Innovation Village
Microsoft launched a standalone Android app for Microsoft Copilot some few days ago, and it has now been followed shortly by the release of iOS and iPad versions on Apple’s App Store.
This provides users quick access to the AI assistant, where they can type in queries and receive responses generated by OpenAI’s GPT-4, the latest large language model. Contrastingly, the free version of ChatGPT uses the older ChatGPT-3.5, with access to the newer model available through ChatGPT Plus subscription.
Additionally, Copilot on iOS has the capability of converting text into images through OpenAI’s DALL-E 3 text-to-image AI system. This system is proficient in understanding the user’s intended final product based on the text prompts. Further refinement includes improvements in rendering elements that previous models found challenging, such as human hands.
This is part of Microsoft’s series of Copilot product launches following the rebranding of Bing Chat. After extending Copilot to Windows 10 and 11, it can potentially be accessed by approximately a billion devices, based on the platforms’ user numbers.
These mobile rollouts further amplify Copilot’s reach, with the added benefit of the apps being free to use.
